BScN, RN, IBCLC

You don’t have to carry this all on your own.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or just completely disconnected from yourself since your baby arrived, please know that you are not alone.

Parenthood brings immense beauty, but it also brings some of the hardest days you will ever face. The emotional, physical, and mental load of those early months can feel incredibly heavy, especially when society tells you that you should be treasuring every single second. There is so much quiet pressure to "bounce back," to take care of everyone else, and to do it all seamlessly. But the truth is that this season can feel messy, lonely, and deeply isolating. You deserve real, tender support through it. I am here to meet you exactly where you are today, with an open heart and zero judgment.

As a mental health registered nurse with nearly 20 years of experience in hospitals and clinics, I have spent my career walking alongside people through their most vulnerable moments. For years, I helped teenagers navigate deep anxiety, depression, eating struggles, and self-harm. Those years taught me just how complex and vital mental health care is, especially during massive life transitions.

Today, I bring that same deep devotion, presence, and practical guidance to postpartum parents. Whether you are struggling with feeding, feeling detached, facing scary intrusive thoughts, or just trying to survive day-to-day, I want to help you breathe a little easier. Your mental health matters just as much as your baby’s. Together, we will navigate this new chapter so you can feel grounded, confident, and truly seen.

Every parent's path looks different, and your specific experience matters. Your story, your tears, and your fears are all valid and you are completely worthy of care.

I would be deeply honoured to walk beside you as you find your footing.

I provide in-person support across York and Durham Regions, including Markham, Stouffville, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Woodbridge, Pickering, Ajax, Oshawa, and Whitby. If you live outside these areas, please still reach out. We can look at options to ensure you get the support you need.

"Being a first-time mom, breastfeeding was single handedly the most difficult part of my journey. Not knowing what I was supposed to do, how I was supposed to do it, or what to expect. There were a million questions I didn't even know I needed to ask. That's when I decided to reach out to a lactation consultant. I am so thankful and blessed to have had Melanie be my guide during such a stressful time. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable, she was also compassionate, understanding, emotionally supportive, not judgmental, and above all, had so much patience when it came to answering all my questions and concerns. She was professional during consultations and catered her recommendations based on my needs during our one on one sessions. She made me feel comfortable, and her technique was gentle and effective. She is someone I would highly recommend and will be reaching out to her myself for baby number 2."
